Q: Do I need a travel visa and a passport

A:

Q: Is travel insurance necessary?

A: We at Fitcation Paradise, believe it is extremely important to have travel insurance. In fact, it is strongly encouraged not to leave home without it. (And if you do, you will need to sign a form stating you declined travel insurance).

Q:What is included in the price of a Ketanga Fitness Retreat?

A. This could vary depending on the trip you are purchasing, but our trips generally include: hotel accommodations, all or most meals (that will be specified in the trip description), ground transportation in your destination, 1-2 workouts a day led by your coach, as well as at least one group activity during the trip. Ketanga also will host a happy hour or get together before the trip so that everyone can meet each other, and we will be there to answer your questions every step of the way.

Q: Are there any additional fees that I will incur outside of the price I’m paying on the website?

A. Unless otherwise arranged with us, you will be responsible for your own airfare, for the ground transportation to and from your departure airport, any tips you choose to leave at the resort, and in some cases (i.e. Costa Rica) a country departure fee at the airport. You will also be responsible to pay for any additional activities or dining/drinking that is done outside of the activities and events organized by Ketanga for your group.

Q: How do I figure out what flights to book?

A: We will provide you with our recommended flights for each trip (which the coach will be on). We encourage you to take the same flights so you can take advantage of the included shuttle from the airport to your hotel and so you can travel with the group. You are welcome to use your preferred airline, frequent flier account numbers, and rewards points for your flights. If you book a separate flight that lands more than 30 minutes after the group flight, you will be responsible for your own transportation to the resort.

Q. My significant other, family member, or friend wants to come on the trip as well, but they don’t want to do the workouts. Can they come at a discounted rate?

A. Our trips are open to everyone and your guest is encouraged to try the workouts as well. If there is a health concern or a specific reason that working out is not an option, please contact us at info@ketangafitness.com and we can go over your options.

Q. If I don’t know anyone coming on the trip, will I feel out of place?

A. Here at Ketanga we believe strongly in building a community of like-minded fitness and travel enthusiasts. We not only will encourage a group meet up or happy hour before the trip, but we also will foster a community vibe with group workouts, activities, and meals throughout the trip. You’ll feel right at home with your fellow travelers after the first meeting. You can choose to spend free time relaxing and recharging on your own as well.

Q. Do I need to be in Olympic-level shape to attend a Ketanga retreat?

A. If you are an Olympic athlete, please contact us about hosting your own retreat! For other participants, all we require is that you have a positive attitude, and that you don’t have any health or physical issues that would prevent you from working out with the group. Our coaches are experienced in leading groups of all levels, but some trips will be more intense than others, as shown by the fitness level ratings in the trip descriptions. You will fill out a fitness evaluation form and also have a meeting with your coach prior to the trip to discuss your fitness level, your goals, and any other concerns you may have. Our coaches are dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals and get the most out of your trip.

Q. What should I bring on the trip?

A. If there is any special equipment or apparel needed for a retreat, we will be sure to let you know once you sign up (e.g. boxing gloves, yoga mat) but generally think about packing enough workout clothing to last you for the duration of the trip. Additionally, use your destination as the guide, so if you’re going somewhere warm, don’t forget your swimsuit, sandals, and casual wear for in between workouts or evening activities.

Q. What if I need to cancel my trip?

A. Things happen, and sometimes cancellation is inevitable. Unfortunately, depending on the time of cancellation, fees may be incurred.

  1. 90 days or more before departure – loss of deposit

  2. 75 to 89 days before departure – loss of deposit and 25% of trip balance

  3. 61 to 74 days before departure – loss of deposit and 50% of trip balance

  4. Within 60 days of departure – loss of 100% of trip payment

    Cancellations by Ketanga:
In the case that Ketanga must cancel a trip for any reason, such as not reaching a minimum number of participants within 30 days of the departure, all fees paid by you to Ketanga will be reimbursed.

Q. What if I get injured on my trip?

A. Our coaches are knowledgeable and trained to teach challenging, effective, and safe workouts. If something were to happen, we will have your insurance information on file (assuming it is applicable in the destination where the trip is being held) and can help assist getting you the help you need. We also are strongly recommending travel insurance to protect you from any accidents.

Q. Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

A. Ketanga highly recommends that every participant purchases travel insurance. You never know what may occur on a trip - with or without Ketanga - from troubles with luggage / flights to medical concerns, so we believe travel insurance is worth every dollar. We suggest Insure My Trip as a resource to provide free quotes so you can find the policy that is best for you. If you choose to decline travel insurance for your trip, you will need to sign a form stating that you take financial responsibility for any expenses incurred as a result of refusing to purchase travel insurance.
